Samuel evaded four potential tacklers on his way to the end zone.
Deebo Samuel’s touchdown Sunday vs. the Rams was a reception, but it looked similar to a lot of Samuel’s run plays from this season.
The do-it-all offensive star took a screen pass from Jimmy Garoppolo 44 yards to the Rams’ end zone to even the score at 7 midway through the second quarter. Samuel shook off four would-be tacklers on his way to the end zone, showing off the physical determination that’s become his calling card in the NFL.
But Samuel didn’t do it alone: Center Alex Mack made a key block on LA safety Nick Scott after getting out into space to pave the way for Samuel. Jauan Jennings also protected Samuel at the beginning by sealing a Rams cornerback outside and giving Samuel time and space to get into gear.
