Mann and Wakata will make their way to the starboard part of the orbiting lab's truss structure, a series of segments that serve as attachment points for solar arrays, heat radiators and external payloads on the ISS. "Once they arrive at the Starboard-4 truss, they will complete a modification kit installation job they began on Jan. 20 to prepare the station for its next roll-out solar array," NASA officials wrote in aTo date, spacewalking astronauts have installed four out of six of these new arrays, which are known as iROSAs . Getting all six up and running will boost the station's power supply by 20% to 30%, NASA officials have said.
