The Jets and Packers have been haggling over appropriate draft-pick compensation for Rodgers, with neither team blinking yet.. “The Green Bay Packers needed to find a lemon. They needed to find somebody that could put the message out there to scare [Jets GM] Joe Douglas, to try to get it over the finish line … Craig, you’re doing nothing wrong, you’re just being used.
Carton pushed back, and Roberts said, in so many words, he was sure the Packers actually did feed him this, but it was a blatant ploy. “Just because the Green Bay Packers are desperate and they’re floating you fake information, doesn’t mean the information’s gonna turn out to be true,” Roberts said. “This is their attempt to scare the Jets.”
