After being closed for over a year following the passing of its owner, Hassan Saad, Warung Ayam Percik Hutan Percha has reopened under the stewardship of his son, Mohd. Helmi Hassan. The reopening on Sunday was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from fans of the dish, with some customers arriving as early as 9 am to avoid missing out.
ALOR GAJAH: Setelah lebih setahun ditutup berikutan pengusahanya, Hassan Saad meninggal dunia pada Mei 2023, legasi Warung Ayam Percik Hutan Percha kini diteruskan anak lelakinya, Mohd. Helmi Hassan.
Mohd. Helmi berkata, meskipun urus niaga sepatutnya bermula pada pukul 12 tengah hari, ada pelanggan termasuk yang datang dari luar Melaka sudah bertandang seawal pukul 9 pagi kerana khuatir kehabisan ayam perciknya. “Boleh dikatakan hampir 15 tahun mereka makan ayam percik yang diusahakan ayah. Bila ayah meninggal lebih setahun kami tidak menjual menu ini, pastinya mereka rindu untuk merasa kembali hidangan ini.
Tambah Mohd. Helmi, dia menyediakan kira-kira 30 ekor ayam pada mulanya, namun terpaksa menambah jumlahnya pada saat akhir kerana lebih separuh ayam percik telah terjual sebelum pukul 12 tengah hari.
