Steph Curry said he’s a “little ways away” from returning to basketball-related activities after injuring his knee earlier this month.

SAN FRANCISCO — A return-to-play timeline for Stephen Curry has yet to be determined as the Warriors star continues to rehab his knee injury.

“It’s a slow kind of process early, letting everything kind of settle, letting the healing process start,” Curry said Monday when he spoke to reporters for the first time since going down. “The goal right now is just to try to let it heal while you maintain as much of your strength and conditioning and keeping everything as active as possible around the injury and then hopefully soon I can get back on the court and start doing basketball stuff.

Wright’s knee knocked into Curry’s left shin. “There was a pretty big knock that kind of jolted the bone and the ligaments in there,” Curry said. An MRI revealed partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments — which connect the leg’s two lower bones, the tibia and fibula — and a membrane in the lower leg.
