Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson to miss game against Minnesota Timberwolves with illness
MINNEAPOLIS — Klay Thompson will sit out for the Warriors’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, his second straight missed game with an illness.
Symptoms of Thompson’s illness have not been specified, but he is not on the NBA’s COVID health and safety protocols. The Warriors will miss his shooting against a Timberwolves team sitting in the Western Conference’s seventh seed. Golden State has hit a mediocre streak with Draymond Green sidelined — they’re 5-5 in their last 10 games and are coming off a brutal loss against the Dallas Mavericks in which they blew a 21-point lead.
This will be the sixth game Thompson will sit out since his grand return on Jan. 9. Coming off Achilles and ACL surgeries, the Warriors have limited his action to 30 minutes and kept him out of back-to-backs.
