A man accused of fleeing from police earlier this month in Nashville reportedly had his four young children in the back seat at the time of the high-speed chase
Claude Maney Jr. charged with evading arrest, several counts of aggravated child endangerment, driving on a suspended license, felon in possession of a handgun, and more . Police said none of the kids were secured in car seats.
Arresting documents for 33-year-old Claude Maney show he was driving a black Dodge Charger along N. Dupont Avenue near Rio Vista Drive on Oct. 4.When police attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Maney reportedly fled. “The vehicle was observed running stop signs, driving at a high rate of speed in a residential neighborhood and driving into the oncoming lanes of traffic,” the affidavit states.
The vehicle pulled into a home on Archwood Drive and dropped someone off. Police questioned the passenger, who stated Maney’s four children – ages 2, 6, 8, and 10 – were in the vehicle at the time, adding “none of the children were in car seats when Mr. Maney fled from detectives.” Maney was later taken into custody and charged with evading arrest, several counts of aggravated child endangerment, driving on a suspended license, felon in possession of a handgun, and more.
