Tech behemoth Google is taking on Apple and Samsung with an array of exciting kit for 2024 including four new smartphones.
Now Google has declared smartphone war on Samsung by unleashing the next generation of AI exclusively on its Pixel 9 series and integrating its AI assistant Gemini into the new handsets. The most exciting Pixel 9 smartphone is the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the firm’s second generation folder phone. Even more exciting is the news it will be going on sale next month in Ireland - unlike its predecessor which was only officially available in Northern Ireland and Britain .
It has an IPX8 rating – which means it’s water resistant – a durable hinge, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the outer display and back. Its all-new hinge is made of stainless steel with an aerospace-grade high-strength aluminium alloy cover, so it’ll hold up fold after fold. Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro The 6.8in Pixel 9 Pro XL is renamed but is the actual successor to Pixel 8 Pro, one of my two favourite Android phones of 2023. I still use it every day. The camera and software experience are a capable match for similar sized competitors S23 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel and Rose Quartz colours. They both go on sale August 22. Pixel 9 Pro costs €1,119 , €1,219 , €1,349.00 and €1,609.00 . Pixel 9 Pro XL costs €1,219.00 , €1,319.00 , €1,449.00 and €1,709.00 .
