Across the board, Walmart said it hopes to bring down the cost of pet ownership, which it estimated can reach as much as $1,285 a year.to the American Pet Products Association, including about $30 billion on food and $18 billion on veterinary care. The association expects the total to hit $75.38 billion this year.around 14% and are expected to grow to about 25% by 2022. PetSmart has been capitalizing on this opportunity with its fast-growing e-commerce company Chewy.
