The green flag drops on the Toyota Owners 400 on Easter Sunday night at Richmond Raceway
NATHANIEL FRAZIER For the Eagle This upcoming weekend is a big one for both the Wallace College Govs baseball and Lady Govs softball squads. Both teams will be playing Central Alabama and both will have something on the line.
They are now only one game behind fifth place Enterprise. The top five teams from Alabama and the top three from Florida will play in the District Tournament for a chance to go to the World Series. "We just tried to stay focused on what was right in front of us. We’re going to do the same thing with Central Alabama. Just focus on one game at a time.”
For the guys the story is a little different. At this point, it's not about getting into the state tournament, but where they will finish. And where the team finishes is vitally important. “I know they can really pitch,” Ihle said of what he knows about Central."They’ve got a coach over there that does a really good job with pitchers. They come right at you and they’ve got some weapons that come out of the bullpen.
