Jeffrey Dean Morgan still hears complaints about Glenn's death. 'That one scene changed my life, literally in so many ways and I still get s*** for it. I walk down those streets and the people that are there remind me daily that Glenn was their favorite.'

The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has revealed the defining moment in his career that fans still bring up to him. Morgan starred as the brutal, barbed-wire bat wielding villain, Negan, whose introduction to the show was its most anticipated event. Negan was well known from the comics as being the foul-mouthed leader of the gang known as the Saviors, and in the later seasons of the show, he had a redemption arc after years of imprisonment by Rick Grimes.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In conversation with /Film, Morgan spoke about his infamous role as Negan as well as the highly anticipated The Walking Dead: Dead City. He shared that he continues to be addressed by angry and dismayed fans for what he calls a life-changing scene.

That one scene changed my life, literally in so many ways and I still get s*** for it. I walk down those streets and the people that are there remind me daily that Glenn was their favorite character. Why Killing Glenn Was The Walking Dead’s Worst Idea Killing Glenn was an incredibly divisive decision made by The Walking Dead. The season 7 premiere drew in record numbers of viewers, heights that it would never reach again.

Glenn's death was a failure for The Walking Dead for two major reasons. One was that the creators prioritized comic accuracy over the context of Glenn's death in the comics against in the show. They failed to take into account that Glenn was arguably the most popular character on the show, and though also a beloved character in the comics, audiences had much more of a connection to Steven Yeun's portrayal of the character.

What We Know About The Walking Dead: Dead City The relationship between Negan and Maggie in The Walking Dead ended with Maggie vowing that she would never be able to forgive Negan because he is a walking reminder of why her husband is dead, but she also expressed gratitude for saving her son, Hershel. They shared a strained but fluid bond in the closing season, and this will be explored further in The Walking Dead: Dead City, which will have 6 episodes and is set to debut in June.
