The debate that divides fans - are Walking Dead's Walkers technically zombies? It turns out, yes! While the series is set in a world without zombie fiction, the term is still used in the comics and show, albeit rarely, and even by creator Robert Kirkman.
The Walking Dead is perhaps the most popular zombie fiction since George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, though what’s interesting about that is the titular creatures aren’t called zombies in the series. This has led many fans to question whether they are, in fact, zombies, or if these undead monsters are supposed to be something else entirely.
