WA premier Mark McGowan’s resignation has not put any sort of “dampener” on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s confidence when it comes to the next election, says Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.

“And could that election be next year? Anthony Albanese actually listed in a very short caucus meeting this morning what seats he believes he can take to increase Labor’s majority at the next election,” Mr Clennell said.

“Bear in mind Labor, after the Aston by-election, has 78 of the 151 seats in the House of Representatives.”
