The electric sedan will be manufactured by SAIC Volkswagen, while the ID.7 will be produced by FAW Volkswagen car auto cars
, together with the ID.Next., a closely-related concept with several restyled components previewing a sister model for the Chinese market.
The VW ID.Next was covered with a stylish camouflage wrap which did little to hide its production-ready design. The model is clearly based on the ID.7 as it sports identical proportions while sharing a number of body panels including the doors. The biggest difference is the new face with the full-width LED bar slotting below the headlights and slimmer intakes on the unique front bumper.
The interior is carried over from the ID.7, meaning that the ID.Next benefits from the same digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 15-inch free-standing infotainment touchscreen, and Smart Air Vents of the twin model. The company didn’t reveal the specifications of the ID.Next concept. However, it is safe to assume that the EV will be offered with the same powertrain options as the ID.7. The latter will be offered single or dual electric motors and a selection between a 77 kWh or an 86 kWh battery pack offering up to 435 miles of range.
