Voters in Kane County on Tuesday cast ballots for contested primary races for Kane County recorder and also for some Kane County Board seats.
Voters cast their ballots during the primary election Tuesday at the I.B.E.W. – Local 461 facility in Aurora.
The Democratic primary for county recorder featured Brenda Rodgers and Marisela Villegas, with the winner to face Republican incumbent Sandy Wegman, who was unopposed in the GOP primary, in the November general election. According to unofficial final results from the Kane County Clerk’s Office, Villegas had 45.9% of the vote to 44% for Rodgers.The contest in District 12 saw Michelle Geen facing off against incumbent Bill Roth, with the top vote-getter set to battle Democratic candidate Ricky Rivard in November. Rivard was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
In District 6, incumbent Ron Ford was challenged by Sonia Garcia. There was no candidate running in the Republican primary in the district.In District 22, incumbent Vern Tepe faced Randy Hopp. The winner is set to face Republican David Teas, who was unopposed in the GOP primary.PHOTOS: Cherry blossoms bloom in Washington, DC
