KOTA KINABALU: A volunteer firefighter succumbed to his injuries suffered in an accident some 35 hours earlier in Sabah’s northern Kota Marudu district.
The 50-year-old had been involved in a mishap when his motorcycle collided with a car at Jalan Kota Marudu – Marak Parak, near Kampung Hatobat, at about 10.30am on Sunday . “It was believed the victim, who was travelling in the opposite direction, lost control of the motorcycle while negotiating a downslope bend and crashed head-on into the car,” he said when contacted on Tuesday .
He said the car driver only sustained minor injuries to his arms and received outpatient treatment at the district hospital.
