Volunteer fire department in Dauphin County reopens, four months after shutdown for safety concerns

The former assistant chief, Dustin Shenfeld, pleaded guilty to a summary citation for harassment last month after the charge was reduced from a third-degree misdemeanor. His next court date for the indecent exposure charge is next month. Mutual aid partners from Lower Swatara, Swatara Township, Middletown and Steelton have covered fire operations in the borough over the past four months.
