German car maker Volkswagen has previewed a new entry into its ID. line of electric vehicles at the iAA Mobility
event at Munich, Germany. It is called the Volkswagen ID. GTI Concept, which the company says is “a concrete insight into how Volkswagen will transport the iconic GTI label into the electric future”. Which may explain why it looks so grounded for a concept car, so much so that you may even confuse it for a production model.
In fact, on the outside, the most outlandish-looking thing on the Volkswagen ID. GTI Concept are the 20-inch wheel rims. Naturally there are some aggressive elements to be found, like the front spoiler and the two red towing points, but these are not exactly rare for performance-oriented cars.On the inside is where things get a bit more concept-like. Rather than the conventional dashboard, you get the GTI Digital Cockpit, or a 10.9-inch screen, with a head-up display being projected on top.
