Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the Voice to Parliament referendum is about recognition and consultation.

Mr Albanese’s remarks come as Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is set to meet via zoom with the working group on the Voice referendum.

“I hope that Peter Dutton joins the call from the Uluru Statement from the Heart to walk with Indigenous Australians on the path of reconciliation,” he said during a media conference on Wednesday. “I hope he goes and meets with the referendum working group that I’ve met with twice with an open mind and, importantly as well, an open heart.
