Melania Trump talks opioids during Las Vegas town hall
In a theater where Barry Manilow revs up shrieking Fanilows and Wayne Newton crooned"Danke Schoen," first lady Melania Trump took the stage at Westgate Las Vegas Tuesday to talk opioids at a town hall and answer questions via social media.
And she insisted the media should do better in covering it. "I challenge the press to devote as much time to the lives lost – and the potential lives that could be saved – by dedicating the same amount of coverage that you do to idle gossip or trivial stories," she said. What's her day like? “My days are very busy. I wake up very early and make sure my son gets off to school. And then I start working. I have a team in my East Wing. I have a hundred people working in the residence and then working with the White House Historical Association to make sure the White House is perfect.”
Our great First Lady will be doing a LIVE show TODAY at 1:00 PM PT with the terrific @EricBolling at the @WestgateVegas Resort. She’s on her #BeBest Tour, helping address the #OpioidCrisis. Free admission for the first 1,500 people! Trump left Washington on Monday on her first solo domestic trip since she became first lady. She flew first to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to visit a charter elementary school that teaches character development throughout its curriculum.
"While you may never personally become addicted, the chances of you knowing someone who struggles with it are high," she said."Please educate yourselves so you know the signs of addiction, and also feel secure enough to talk about it, and keep talking about it until help arrives.
