Ahli Jawatankuasa Pertubuhan Doktor Islam Malaysia , Dr Zubaidi Ahmad berkata, jangkitan virus influenza selalunya bermusim.Menurut Dr Zubaidi, virus ini sangat agresif, mudah merebak dan menyebabkan mangsa jangkitan lebih sengsara.

“Pesakit yang datang ke klinik dalam keadaan batuk, selesema dan demam akan menjalani pemeriksaan darah menggunakan ‘influenza kit’ untuk mengesan antibodi yang melawan virus ini dalam darah,” katanya. Jangkitan virus selesema pula, Dr Zubaidi berkata, ia tidak bermusim dan boleh berlaku sepanjang tahun.

Menurut Dr Zubaidi, tanda jangkitan virus selesema yang biasa seperti demam, sakit kepala, sakit badan, letih dan tidak bermaya selalunya jarang berlaku atau tidak terlalu teruk.
