UK Civil Aviation Authority say that financially troubled Flybe had entered administration.
With the disease now rapidly spreading outside China, demand for air travel is nosediving globally, spelling serious trouble for many already struggling carriers. The “industry’s prospects in much of the world have taken a dramatic turn for the worse”, said IATA head Alexandre de Juniac, and appealed to governments for support.“As governments look to stimulus measures, the airline industry will need consideration for relief on taxes, charges and slot allocation. These are extraordinary times.”
