A Malaysian man's first night with his wife took a spooky turn when he was obliged to sleep in the deceased grandmother's room, according to a tradition in his wife's family.
Following SAYS Seismik on WhatsApp Channels, Telegram, Instagram, and TikTok is a great way to stay updated on the latest news and interesting articles. Every family has its own unique traditions passed down through generations. However, if a tradition seems illogical or contradicts religious beliefs, it's best not to continue it. A recent tweet on X by a man sharing his first night in his late mother-in-law's room has gone viral, capturing the attention of many.
The man, who shared his story through @detikseram, describes how he was 'haunted' on his first night with his wife. According to him, his wife's family has a tradition where every newly married couple must sleep in the room of the deceased grandmother on the first night. Describing the experience, he said, 'When I opened the door, the aroma of kasturi filled my nostrils. The room was beautifully decorated like a chamber from a bygone era. All the equipment was antique. No wonder my wife's room was undecorated; they decorated the room of her late grandmother.' 'I didn't react at all, let alone think about being with my wife in that room. The room was beautiful and antique, but very eerie. I felt like I was born in 1935,' he said. After this eerie incident, his brother-in-law asked if he slept well that night. 'I shook my head. Everyone burst into laughter. Before the wedding, they asked us if our families had such ridiculous traditions,' he replied. Many have since commented on the post, expressing their amusement and concern. The tweet has sparked a conversation about cultural traditions and their relevance in modern times. Some users have shared their own experiences with unusual wedding traditions, while others have debated the merits of upholding such practices.
