KOTA KINABALU: Twenty people were nabbed in Lahad Datu for violating the movement control order (MCO) over the weekend.
Fourteen out of the 20 people nabbed were arrested while playing poker and dominoes in a house at Kg Teck Guan, Jalan Segama in the district around 10pm, April 24.“All of them are being detained at the police lockup,” he said.
He said sets of poker and dominoes games cards, as well as RM7, were among items seized from the suspects. ACP Nasri said they are being investigated under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act. In another incident, a foreign worker was nabbed after he was caught with a homemade gun at an oil palm estate at Kg Sri Daun Tungku.ACP Nasri said the man will be investigated under the Firearms Act and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act.Article type: metered
