Actress Viola Davis will not be acting in her movie named G20 during the actors strike despite a SAG-AFTRA waiver.

Davis is set to star in and produce an action thriller movie named G20. The film is from Amazon Studios and MRC Film and is set to be directed by Patricia Riggen, who directed The 33 and Miracles From Heaven. The film is written by Noah and Logan Miller with revisions from Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss .The Hollywood Reporter

. “Davis is playing the American president, named Taylor Sutton, who must bring all her statecraft and military experience to bear to defend her family, her fellow leaders, and, of course, the world.” Amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA actors strike, G20 received a waiver which would allow them to film during the strike. This is because the film is from the non-AMPTP-affiliated MRC, and will only be distributed by Amazon Studios. However, Viola Davis said that despite the production receiving the go-ahead, she will not act in the film during the strike to stay in solidarity with the other actors.

“I love this movie, but I do not feel that it would be appropriate for this production to move forward during the strike,” Davis told . “I appreciate that the producers on the project agree with this decision. JuVee Productions and I stand in solidarity with actors, SAG/AFTRA and the WGA.”Her next movie will be The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, where she will portray Dr. Volumnia Gaul, the head gamemaker of the 10th Hunger Games.Jonathan Sim is a film critic and filmmaker born and raised in New York City. He is an avid fan of Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pixar, DC, and nearly every new movie.
