An idea for a Breaking Bad spinoff would see Walt Jr. continue his father's legacy, but this may be too depressing a direction for the franchise.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The creator of Breaking Bad has no interest in making a spinoff following Walt Jr., and this is probably a good thing. The AMC series managed five successful seasons and set up the spinoff prequel, Better Call Saul, which many consider even better than the parent series.
Son of the great Heisenberg himself, Walt Jr. was a far more sympathetic character throughout Breaking Bad than his drug lord father. Walter White's gradual decline into the drug world made up the bulk of the series, and this was especially evident in how his actions affected his family. In the series finale, Walt Sr. is killed in a meth-lab shoot-out, but not before leaving his son a sizeable trust he could access when he turned 18. A common pitch among audiences is that Walt Jr.
The best thing Walt Sr. could have done for his son is to set him up for financial success and get out of his way. Mitte's character didn't have a particularly happy ending, but he was one of the few in Breaking Bad that really deserved one. Therefore, with his father's bad choices out of the way, it can be hoped that he slowly made his way toward a happier life. Dragging Breaking Bad's Walt Jr.
Why Another Breaking Bad Spinoff Is Likely It's not very often that a TV series tells a great story and doesn't overstay its welcome, but Gilligan has proven he knows when to say when. Both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul continued for precisely as many seasons as they should and wrapped themselves up nicely.
Still, between the parent series, the perfect TV spinoff of Better Call Saul, and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, the franchise has established several characters whose stories could continue. Assuming that audiences continue to ask for one, it seems likely that the future will include another Breaking Bead spinoff. Based on the Breaking Bad creator's comments, we can assume it won't be a Walt Jr. series—but we never know what the future will hold.
