Villanova bracing for pro-Houston crowd in Saturday’s Elite Eight showdown

Villanova has treated each matchup of the Big East and NCAA tournaments like a road test, Samuels said, and the Wildcats will take the same approach Saturday. “Everywhere we go, we can tell the intensity of the crowd,” Wright said. “People tell you, ‘This is the biggest game. It’s the hottest ticket.’ So, I hope that helps us tomorrow night.”
“I wouldn’t say necessarily we thrive in those moments, but we feel like we’re ready for those moments,” Samuels said. “We work on those pressure situations every day.” For Houston, the threat of a raucous crowd is an ongoing development. When coach Kelvin Sampson took the helm of the program ahead of the 2014-15 season, Houston had gone 30 years without winning a game in the NCAA Tournament.
