Following diplomatic pressure from the Vietnamese government, Malaysian prosecutors had dropped the murder charge against Doan Thi Huong on April 1. The brazen killing of Kim Jong Nam with a toxic nerve agent at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in broad daylight shocked the world. “We have been told by prison authorities that Huong will be freed on May 3,” lawyer Salim Bashir told AFP.Last month, the charge against co-accused 27-year-old Indonesian suspect Siti Aisyah was dropped.
