Vietnam: Covid-19 cases piling up as total goes above 800 cases

There are currently more than 178,900 people quarantined nationwide at hospitals, other facilities and their homes.

A 63-year-old man who works at a pizza restaurant in Cau Gay District tested positive for coronavirus on August 7.

Since that case was announced, anyone who came into close contact with the patient 447 at work, including the 63-year-old, were quarantined immediately and the restaurant closed. The two new cases bring the total number of people to test positive for Covid-19 to 812. Of those, 317 are imported and 355 all connected to the central city.

Three cases have recently entered Vietnam from abroad and were quarantined upon arrival while the rest were recorded domestically, said the ministry.
