HANOI (Vietnam News/ANN): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh on Thursday (April 23) said Vietnam would enhance its co-operation with other countries, including the US, as well as the World Health Organization in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the online Special Asean-US Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Covid-19, Minh informed participants of the measures undertaken by the Vietnamese Government and the initial positive results it had recorded.
The official also called on countries to pay attention to issues regarding peace, regional security, stability, solidarity, trust building, and legality. They also highlighted the need for the early availability of vaccines and treatments while ensuring countries had equal access to both. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said his government had committed over US$500 million in emergency assistance for the global fight against Covid-19, focusing on improving the capacity of labs, control and rapid response.
