The driver's wife was rushed to the hospital after their vehicle hit the buffalo. Watch:
Oriental Daily recently reported an accident that took place in the state of Kelantan. That evening, the driver and his family were on their way home after attending a relative’s wedding when suddenly they collided with a water buffalo on the road. Due to the low levels of illumination and possible speeding, the man did not see the creature in time to avoid it.
According to reports, the impact of the collision caused the buffalo to fly into the air and land on the family’s vehicle, crashing through the rear glass window. Authorities were immediately called to the scene to investigate the accident. As seen in the video above, we can see the aftermath of the collision where the buffalo was still stuck on top of the car.
As for the family, luckily everyone survived the crash. Pasir Puteh district police chief Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria told reporters that the man and his three children escaped with minor injuries but his wife, unfortunately, was left unconscious and sustained serious injuries from the accident. She was then rushed to the intensive care unit at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital. As seen in the screenshots above, netizens’ opinions on the accident are torn.
It is said that the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving. At the time of writing, there have been no updates from local authorities on the family’s condition or on the accident case. Let this be a reminder to always stay vigilant on the road and avoid speeding, especially at night.
