Weddings are a momentous occasion to celebrate a couple's love for each other. Apart from the marvellous venue, some couples have also paid good money to have a famous singer perform at the ceremony with a setlist that consists of the most popular love songs in the world.

Over the weekend, influencer Tyra Kamaruzzaman got married to her husband fashion designer Emran Rijal in a beautiful 'Puteri Gunung Ledang'-themed wedding and one of the highlights of the evening was having singer Aina Abdul perform at the ceremony. However, fans weren't so delighted after hearing one of the songs from the setlist.

Netizens all took to Twitter to criticise Aina for the song choice as it is a breakup song and thus, inappropriate for a wedding. Lyrics to the chart-topping ballad include, 'So goodbye, please don't cry, we both know I'm not what you, you need, and I will always love you'. After posts of the performance went viral, the bride herself came to the artist's defence.

Responding to what netizens have been saying on Twitter, Tyra said that her guests didn't really care much about the lyrics as they were all entranced by Aina's singing. 'Relax, I didn't actually request the song but it was nice to hear THE Aina Abdul singing Whitney Houston. Plus, it's also Emran's favourite Whitney song. It's not that deep. It's our wedding so we get to choose whatever songs we want,' the influencer wrote.
