Many fans have shared their experience interacting with their favourite celebrities and it has ended up hilariously at times. However, have you ever wondered what it’s like to have your idol enjoy something you made? Well, this cafe owner was able to experience that after baking for the one and only IU !
Chanel is the owner of Cafe Lilac by Whisking Bakes in Singapore and she recently had the opportunity to cater some sweet treats for IU. The South Korean singer was recently in Singapore to perform her two-day concert as part of her ongoing world tour. Chanel and her team had catered desserts for both concert days plus on the rehearsal day and she took to TikTok to share her experience.According to her videos, the cafe owner had meticulously planned different menus for the three days.
On Day 1 of the concert, the cafe had prepared an “IU-themed” spread with desserts inspired by the star’s hit songs like “Love Wins All” and “Blueming”. As for Day 2, Cafe Lilac went with Korean flavours like sweet potato and banana milk. The Singaporean said she had fun planning the dessert menus for the K-pop vocalist and was honoured to have catered for an internationally recognised singer.
If you’re wondering how Chanel and her team had the lucky opportunity to cater for IU’s concert, the cafe owner revealed that she was asked directly by the concert organiser, iMe Singapore. Chanel also revealed that the dessert tables were a hit with IU and the concert crew because all the desserts were gone within a few hours. Cafe Lilac’s desserts were also featured in a backstage video shown during the concert.It must’ve been a dream for Chanel to work with such an incredible artist.
