Crews were able to quickly wrangle in a reptile that broke out of the St. Augustine Alligator Farm’s zoo van and made a dash for the road.
According to a social media post, the alligator farm said they were moving their crocodilians to another area of the zoo Tuesday when the incident happened.
Though the animal was secured and placed in the van, zoo officials said it was able to escape out the van’s back window.The St. Augustine Alligator Farm gave credit to two female employees — Karsyn, a reptile keeper and Gen, a general curator — as well as Ryan and Donald from the maintenance team — for recapturing the animal.
