Video of alleged mastermind singing released day before Jong-nam murder accused walks free
A DAY before Malaysia frees Doan Thi Huong, the last suspect jailed over the murder of Kim Jong-Nam, on reduced charges, Qatar-owned broadcaster Al Jazeera has released exclusive footage of the alleged mastermind of the assassination belting out what appears to be a love ballad in a karaoke session in China, months after the deed.
Ri Jong Chol, 48, was arrested by Malaysian police after the killing in February 2017, on suspicions he prepared the VX nerve agent that killed Jong-Nam. He was however later released in a prisoner exchange with Pyongyang, which had detained nine Malaysians in North Korea after Malaysia ignored its objections and went ahead with a post mortem on the body of the deceased Jong-nam.
