Indian English-language newspaper Business Standard reported that the MAS flight travelled at a maximum altitude of 29,000ft before descending to 19,000ft. It further lowered to an altitude of 7,200ft, which it maintained until the last 15 minutes before landing at Hyderabad airport.However, a MAS representative confirmed with The Hindu that the aircraft experienced engine failure shortly after takeoff and returned to Hyderabad airport.
