Victoria Institution Cadet Corps Band terus mengekalkan gelaran juara dalam pertandingan kawad padang pada Malaysia International Marching Arts Championship 2024 yang diadakan di Stadium Perak, Ogos lalu.
“Semua pelajar yang berjaya mendaftar akan diasah kemahirannya sehingga dilihat layak dan berkemampuan menjadi wakil dalam pertandingan. “Antara rahsia kejayaan VICCB adalah latihan mingguan sebanyak tiga kali termasuk kem intensif yang dikenali sebagai ‘Band Camp’ untuk meningkatkan disiplin berpasukan dan mutu persembahan.
Kejohanan yang bermula sejak 2007 itu menampilkan barisan juri daripada Amerika Syarikat, Jepun dan Thailand dan penganjuran kali ini mencatatkan sejarah apabila menerima penyertaan tertinggi berbanding sebelumnya di Johor Bahru.Sementara itu, Pengarah VICCB, Nazmi Naim Abd. Ghani berkata, hanya pelajar yang komited dan berdedikasi akan diwakilkan ke pertandingan.
“Pelajar tidak pernah berputus asa dan terus menjalani latihan atau kem dengan bersungguh-sungguh walaupun tidak menjadi wakil pertandingan,” ujarnya.
