The Andrews government has announced a major shake up for Victorian homes, in an attempt to bring down soaring gas bills.
The Andrews government announced planning permits for all new homes and residential subdivisions will be expected to make the transition effective from January 1 2024.
Ms D’Ambrosio announced a $10 million Residential Electrification grants program to assist new homeowners setting up their homes without gas. Energy Efficiency Council CEO Luke Menzel supported the phasing out of gas and said it was a “no brainer” for Victorian families.
