Vicky White's friends call her a 'scapegoat' for Casey White's escape
One of Vicky White's friends recently called the corrections officer a"scapegoat" in capital murder suspect Casey White's escape from jail.in Birmingham, Alabama, Debbie Burbank, who was identified as one of Vicky White's life-long friends said,"Vicky's always been a good girl...it's gotta be other people involved and Vicky's just a scapegoat."
"I have known Vicky all my life. There is no way she is guilty of this," Burbank said."Somehow she was forced." Another one of Vicky White's friends, who was not identified, told the local TV station that if Vicky White had anything to do with Casey White's escape,"it was definitely love." Both were last seen on April 29, 2022 as they left the Lauderdale County Jail in Lauderdale County, Alabama. Vicky, a corrections officer with the jail, is accused of helping Casey escape. The two reportedly had a 'special relationship' since 2020 when he first was sent to the jail for a court appearance, authorities say.
Amid the ongoing manhunt for the two, authorities have continued to release new information, including an arrest warrant that was issued for Vicky White, accusing her of"permitting or facilitating escape in the first degree in connection with capital murder suspect Casey White's escape from jail," the U.S. Marshals Service said. A $5,000 reward is currently being offered for Vicky White's arrest and a $10,000 reward is being offered for Casey White's arrest.
