A 17th-century Anthony van Dyck portrait of a horse, with a hidden landscape sketch on the reverse, is set to be auctioned next week by Christie’s during their “ Classic Week ” events. The painting, estimated at 2 to 3 million pounds, is expected to fetch up to RM17 million. The piece, titled “ Andalusian Horse ,” is van Dyck’s earliest known grand-scale depiction of a single horse, according to Christie’s.
