Valve launched a new Game Recording function for Steam, giving gamers another way to record their gameplay footage. The best part is that the feature work on
any game on the platform.
Like all built-in gameplay recording feature, Game Recording allows you to record your footage, go through a replay, make a video clip of your best moment in-game, and then share it with the world.Steam user will be able to set the recording length, but it is set to 120 minutes by default. Like NVIDIA's Shadowplay, Steam Game Recording can be activated via hotkeys. At 12Mbps, Valve estimates that the average size of a 120-minute video would be around 10GB.
The best part is that Valve says the Steam Game Recording feature won't interfere or conflict with other recorders. Another really nice thing is that the feature allows you to add different markets, indicating which event is player or game-added. You can even jump to different timelines of the game through the simple 'Jump to Next Event' buttons.As mentioned the Steam Game Recording Mode is still in Beta. The good news is that it isn't difficult to gain access to it.
