UTSA’s Tariq Woolen nears NFL combine record in 40-yard dash

Former UTSA cornerback Tariq Woolen posted one of the fastest 40-yard dash times in the history of the NFL combine, notching an official mark of 4.26 seconds on Sunday in Indianapolis.
Woolen measured 6-4 1/8 and 205 pounds, giving him the fastest 40-yard time since 2003 for any player standing taller than 6-foot or weighing more than 200 pounds. Woolen’s 40-yard potential started to gather attention after he was measured at 22.45 mph during practices for the Senior Bowl, posting the highest speed in the history of the event. Former NFL standout Chad Johnson tweeted last week that he believed Woolen had a chance to break the combine record.
