It’s a crime that shocked the conscience, a young woman and her dog locked inside a storage unit earlier this year police say at the hands of her boyfriend and then it caught on fire.

One shows the first Murray Police officer arriving on the scene at CubeSmart storage located at 4608 South 900 East. A firefighter briefs the officer about a guy in a black jacket, he is unaware there has been a fatality. This is the conversation:That guy in the black jacket behind me that's talking to the other officer, he's with the girl, the deceased girl.Yeah, somebody is dead and the dog's dead.

“And her nieces and nephews really, really adored her. They’re having a really hard time with the fact that she’s gone,” says Williamson. She added, “All of Morgan’s friends and co-workers have said she was one of the sweetest people they’ve ever met. She was really easy to get along with and work with and yeah everyone is just kind of in shock that something so awful could happen to such a kind person.”Williamson says she had no idea about the extent of Wardell's criminal history. She said there were a few warning signs, "He told my daughter that he’d been in jail for drugs so that made me a little nervous.
