Business activity in the United States in August expanded at a slow pace. The preliminary S&P Global Compositedecreased to 50.4, down from 52.0 previously and below market expectations of 52.0. This is the largest decrease since November 2022. S&P Global Manufacturing PMI fell to 47 from 49 in the prior month, while Services PMI dropped to 51 from 52.4 in the previous month. In response to the data, the Greenback weakened across the board and dragged the USD/CHF pair lower.
