A previous version of this report incorrectly identified Usain Bolt’s country of origin. He is Jamaican.

Bolt’s attorney Linton P. Gordon gave the Associated Press a copy of a letter to SSL demanding that the money be returned. Gordon said Bolt’s account once had $12.8 million but now reflects a balance of only $12,000. According to the Gleaner report, a now-former SSL employee has been implicated in a fraud scheme and may have been linked to the reported issues surrounding Bolt’s investments.
