The pilot, crew chief and squadron executive officer have been identified as the three US marines killed in Sunday's Osprey crash on Melville Island in the Northern Territory.

Captain Eleanor V LeBeau, 29, Corporal Spencer R Collart, 21, and Major Tobin J Lewis, 37, were killed when the MV-22B Osprey crashed and caught fire during a military training exercise.One is in a critical condition, and two are in a stable condition. In a statement, commanding officer of the Marine Rotational Force Darwin, Colonel Brendan Sullivan, said the force was "deeply saddened" by the loss.
"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Australian Defence Force, Northern Territory Police, Northern Territory Government, CareFlight Air and Mobile Services, NT Health, National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre, and Tiwi Island Government [Tiwi Land Council], who have come together to assist us in this difficult time," he said.
"At present, we remain focused on required support to the ongoing recovery and investigative efforts."in such a way that the 20 other personnel on board survived.Corporal Collart enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2020 and was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2023.Major Lewis commissioned in the Marine Corps in 2008, being promoted to the rank of Major in 2018.
