US envoy summoned over Sabah kidnap warning

US ambassador Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir was summoned to the Foreign Affairs Ministry yesterday to explain Washington’s travel advisory warning against kidnapping risks in Sabah. The ministry handed a protest note to Kamala over the US government’s decision to include Malaysia in the “K” indicator list of its travel advisory issued on April 9, Wisma Putra said in a statement.
