PETALING JAYA: Fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low, says he is looking forward to resolving claims related to jewellery worth US$1.7mil (RM7.02mil) that was purportedly given to his mother Evelyn Goh.
A spokesman for Low said he was pleased to learn that the US Justice Department and all the relevant parties were working to “amicably resolve the matter”.
Earlier Thursday, Malaysiakini reported that the Justice Dept had reached an agreement with the custodian of the 1MDB-linked jewellery – comprising a pair of diamond earrings and a matching diamond ring – to return the items to the United States. "This transfer of the defendant's assets shall not be construed as an admission of wrongdoing or liability on the part of the current custodian or any other party.
