US Defence Dept asked to prepare beds for 5,000 migrant kids

US President Donald Trump’s administration has asked the Defence Department to prepare to house up to 5,000 unaccompanied migrant children amid what it calls a mounting “crisis” at the border with Mexico, said the Pentagon yesterday. The Health and Human Services Department “requested DoD support to identify space to house up to 5,000 unaccompanied alien children at its installations, if needed, through September 30”, said Pentagon spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Jamie Davis.
