THE daughter of former Uzbek president Islam Karimov was yesterday charged in New York in connection with a decade-long scheme to pay her more than US$865 million in bribes, said prosecutors. It is one of the largest schemes ever charged under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, said the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York in a statement.
